The Northwestern Medicine Bronzeville project showcases the manufacturing expertise of the QC Facades teams. With over 50,000 sq ft of perforated and non-perforated metal panels QC Facades (along with AFS International and installation by Tuschall Engineering), the team has engineered and created new and innovative solutions to give movement and life to this dynamic exterior facade.
To achieve this movement and overall aesthetic, 3mm plate was used as the main exterior material. To maintain flatness matching perforated stiffeners were introduced to seamlessly support the panel while not impacting the visual nature of the semi translucent screen created by the perforated panels. The engineered panels have been coated in a high performance custom powder bronze finish that reacts and reflects direct and indirect sunlight to further enhance the movement of the chevron panels.
